To check for Trim, run this command

    fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify

If the result is 0 (zero), then Trim is enabled.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

For alignment you check with these commands

    Diskpart
    List disk
Select disk n (where n is the number that was given for your SSD in List disk)
    List partition

Now you should see a result like this.

    Partition ### Type Size Offset
    ------------- ---------------- ------- -------
Partition 1 Primary 59 GB 1024 KB - but 64KB or any number divisible by 4 is also good

The offset (in KBs) has to be divisible by 4.

Hehe, yes, the d-word definitely lights the touch paper, my mistake.

It's great to hear I'm 555 and I don't need to do anything.

I'm fairly confident I'm still on a different page to everyone else though!
Wow your 555 years old!!! You got me beat....lol

Oh woot, now I can check.

For TRIM the result was 0, so that's great.

    For alignment, in command prompt I typed Diskpart and was prompted to 'allow to make changes to computer' (which always makes me nervous). Then, List disk> return and got;

    Disk### Status Size Free
    --------- -------- -------- --------
    Disk 0 online 476GB 3072kb

Hopefully that's where I needed to be coz when I tried inputting the next line (Select disk n) it said; The arguments specified from this command are not valid.

    Anyway, 3072 divided by 4 = 768

    Sounds like I'm good?

This was found to not be the case.
window was just saying it was defragging the SSD on some pc's(for whatever reason), but was in fact only optimising/trimming them
