    Windows 10 Problem when rebooting

Anytime that the PC restarts..whether I do a manual restart or it automatically restarts after an update, the screen just goes black and doesn't do anything. The computer stays on because I can hear the fans and the lights are on. The only way I can get the computer to come back is by doing a hard restart by holding in the power button...this does not always work though..sometimes I have to hold the reset button on my case for around 30 seconds for it to work. If neither of those options work then I have to repeatedly unplug the power cables and and try the power button...even this sometimes takes multiple tries. I am tried everything that I can and cannot seem to figure out what is causing this problem.

Try turning off "fast start up" in your power settings options (under "choose what the power button does" I think).

I am new to Windows 10 but there is a lot of talk about the infamous black screen. It usually revolves around AMD video cards or laptops that have two graphics options (intel and AMD/Nvida). Keep reading, I am sure you will find it.

I have looked into this and nothing has seemed to work. I have two graphics cards installed but I do not have crossfirex enabled. This is getting very frustrating. I used the reset feature in Windows 10 to do a fresh install. Even when the OS was installing and had to restart the computer..it would stall. To me it seems like the restart stops about halfway through. Like I said above..the computer continues to run but just sits on a black screen. The last time I had to press the reset button on my case about 25-30 times for the computer to actually restart.

Have you run from a command prompt Admin SFC /SCANNOW to see if it reports any errors??

just for testing, can or have you tried taking one of your cards out of your computer?? Just to see if it changes anything? Not sure what the problem could be, just trying to think of things you could try. Also, could check your gpu drivers, to see if their is a newer driver out......from whoever made your graphic cards...NOT from Microsoft.
