    Disk Cleanup Issues

Having a major problem with Disk Cleanup. It shows that I have about 28GB in Temporary Internet Files, but running the program does not seem to get rid of these files. I've run it about 20 times, rebooted several times, tried CCleaner and CleanDisk, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of these? They are really slowing my PC down. This all started after I removed a lot of large programs and documents a couple of weeks ago.

    Try this 3rd party program.
It has been reported that it does the job you are looking for.

    Hi,

And doing so turned into 28 Gb (wow!) of browser cached files ?

Surely something's not errr..... quite right.

Are you sure these files are actually there ?

    Cheers,

    My friend,
Don't laugh. I know exactly what he is referring to.

Please follow this step and see for yourself.......
Start > Settings > System > Storage > click This PC > scroll down and locate Temporary files > What do you see ?
Click Temp files > write down the size of the temp files.
Now try to click the Delete Temporary files button.
It's going to tell you it will take some time and that come back a little later.
Give it say 30 min. Go back and see if any got deleted.

You might be able trim it down a bit more by manually removing them. Run > %temp% (Click on Run and type %temp%)

However, even after I tested that myself, I was still showing 126 MB.

    I just tried the TFC.
IT removes 305 MB. That leaves 177 MB still in the system.

First please go to the temporary files page as I mentioned on Post #4.
Mark down the size of the temp files.
    Then do your Ccleaner.
Then go back and check what or how much has been removed from the temp files.
Then you tell me what's wrong with Ccleaner.

I use Ccleaner since Win 7, 4 years ago.
Like the OP I used Ccleaner in trying to delete the temp files. It did not even make a dent.
I knew of this issue long ago.
I have a 600 GB hard disk computer. So I don't care. But I know the issue exists.
