    File History Problems

I searched the forum for "File History Problems" with no success, perhaps this should be under Performance/Maintenance?

Thanks in advance for the past valuable hints, tips, guidance over the years from TenForums as well as 8 over recent years without having to actually ask a question.

Anyway I have been with Win 10 as far back as the Insider Programme [that's on a LapTop]. My Desktop is on Windows 10 Version 1511, Build 10586.36

Lately my File History has created unexpected problems.

As background you need to know I have three physical hard drives. One 128GB SSD [C], one SATA 1TB as three logical drives [D, E, F] Optical is [G], another SATA 2 TB [J] used as the backup drive.

    Additionally I have four external USB drives. Drives [H] 3TB, [I] 1TB, [K] 2TB, [L] 3TB

Until recently I happily had File History backup C, D, E, to drive J. In aggregate these total around 200GB - no space problems.

Suddenly File History has taken upon itself to add external drives H, K, L [an impossible task]. I've repetitively removed those drives from File History settings, even excluded them, then deleted their data from backup drive J.

Next morning? Yep you guessed it. But why all of a sudden?

Yes I have given up asking staff over at Microsoft, as links to Vista, Win 7 or 8 are not always helpful - let alone relevant.

    Peace

    Ian from Sydney.

    Update:

This morning, all my setting are now inexplicably holding - exactly as I wanted and formerly had set up.
