    High Latency Windows 10

Good evening, I ask you my problem.

I started getting worried since the PC started having freezes during video and music playback.

Using latencymon and crystaldiskmark, I verified this problem related to those two drivers, I tried various things but found no solution.

I have tried both standard microsoft and amd SATA drivers. Can't figure out what it may be like someone can help me? thanks a lot

    My configuration:

    Asus prime x470 plus

    AMD Ryzen 7 2700x

    RX580 8GB

    x2 HDD SATA 7200rpm

    Sabrent nvme 1tb

    CONCLUSION

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____

Your system appears to be having trouble handling real-time audio and other tasks. You are likely to experience buffer underruns appearing as drop outs, clicks or pops. One or more DPC routines that belong to a driver running in your system appear to be executing for too long. One problem may be related to power management, disable CPU throttling settings in Control Panel and BIOS setup. Check for BIOS updates.

LatencyMon has been analyzing your system for 0:00:56 (h:mm:ss) on all processors.

    CPU SPEED

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____

    Reported CPU speed: 3693 MHz

Note: reported execution times may be calculated based on a fixed reported CPU speed. Disable variable speed settings like Intel Speed Step and AMD Cool N Quiet in the BIOS setup for more accurate results.

WARNING: the CPU speed that was measured is only a fraction of the CPU speed reported. Your CPUs may be throttled back due to variable speed settings and thermal issues. It is suggested that you run a utility which reports your actual CPU frequency and temperature.

MEASURED INTERRUPT TO USER PROCESS LATENCIES

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____

The interrupt to process latency reflects the measured interval that a usermode process needed to respond to a hardware request from the moment the interrupt service routine started execution. This includes the scheduling and execution of a DPC routine, the signaling of an event and the waking up of a usermode thread from an idle wait state in response to that event.

Highest measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 987,659798

Average measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 4,357902

Highest measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 985,718861

Average measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 1,710867

    REPORTED HARD PAGEFAULTS

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____

Hard pagefaults are events that get triggered by making use of virtual memory that is not resident in RAM but backed by a memory mapped file on disk. The process of resolving the hard pagefault requires reading in the memory from disk while the process is interrupted and blocked from execution.

NOTE: some processes were hit by hard pagefaults. If these were programs producing audio, they are likely to interrupt the audio stream resulting in dropouts, clicks and pops. Check the Processes tab to see which programs were hit.

Process with highest pagefault count: msmpeng.exe

Total number of hard pagefaults 75

Hard pagefault count of hardest hit process: 34

    Number of processes hit: 3

I don't know how to fix or minimize your problems but if you have Win 10 V1903, do you have the latest version and updates? There was latency issues when 1903 was first released. It took about a month for Microsoft to fix the latency problems (we were experiencing for recording studios).

I know nothing about Ryzen CPU's and any specific issues related to them that potentially could cause latency problems.

I would begin by checking to make sure that you are running the latest ASUS driver for your RX580 and also check to see which version of Radeon Graphics software you have loaded. I have found that using the incorrect version of the Radeon Adrenalin software can have a bad effect on the graphics experience. Also, check the Power Plan that you are using. Windows has an AMD Ryzen power plan profile that seems to work best for me. My MoBo is the same as yours although I have a different Ryzen processor.

as a version of amd both processor and video card should be the latest updated on the amd website. installed yesterday as I also tried a clean installation without effectiveness.
then I also tried those on the asus site but the same doesn't change anything.

I see from your original post that this Windows Defender process is using up a lot of system resources and causing pagefaults:
Process with highest page fault count: msmpeng.exe
From some searching here on Ten Forums, I see that this Windows Defender process can, at times, cause a big system slowdown and high CPU occupancy. This situation could be a reason for poor audio/video performance on your system.

Two items. (1) I have an ASUS RX580 and never had a Latency issue with any driver. (2) Same, no latency, with Windows Defender.
I monitor my system closely since I use my desktop for my audio recording studio work.

I use crystal disk mark and i see the problem of latency on the driver storport.sys and storenvme.sys
