    Annoying sleep behavior

    Hello,

I have a Dell Optiplex 980 desktop and everything runs smooth with Windows 10. I do have a problem with sleep. The PC goes to sleep after 60 minutes as it's set to. Upon waking it up if I do not keep using keyboard or mouse it goes right back to sleep within a minute. It's annoying when you're reading an email and the PC keeps going in to sleep mode. I think the BIOS is set to S1.

    What's the culprit?

    Thanks

Hi, there are lots and lots of threads on sleep issues on this forum... could I suggest it's worth searching through them, then posting back with what you've tried (or even success :))? Thanks!

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\238C9FA8-0AAD-41ED-83F4-97BE242C8F20\7bc4a2f9-d8fc-4469-b07b-33eb785aaca0\DefaultPowerSchemeValues

Edit each of the sub-keys. Each corresponds to one of the power plans. If you choose ACSettings (Decimal value is 3600 seconds for 1 hour) you are choosing a behavior for when the machine is plugged in, DCSettings are for battery power.
