Running out of Hard Drive space

I have a HP Stream 11 laptop I bought from Walmart, it came with Windows 8.1 and I went through the charade of upgrading from 8.1 to 10 so it would validate they key and then I immediately did a clean install. Sadly with this laptop, it only has a 32 GB eMMC drive (non-upgrageable), when formatted it is brought down to 28 GB, after the clean install I was at 15 GB, I have installed very very few and rather lightweight applications that at most take up 1 GB. So left with 14 GB, what I have noticed since then... it seems as the updates rolls out, I'm starting to run out of space, I just did the "November 1511" update and I am now down to 5.75 GB free.
Is there anything I can do to slim down Windows 10? or Should I just downgrade to a different OS?

You could run disk cleanup - this will delete your old (pre-install) windows files. That will take you more or less where you were before.

See option 1 here Windows.old Folder - Delete in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

You could also compact your OS. Compact OS - Compress or Uncompress Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums and disable hibernation Hibernate - Enable or Disable in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

After that go to Settings > System > Apps and features and install anything you don't want. Apps like Candy Crush and Solitaire collection are pretty big for example.

I don't know I didn't think of that, I was able to gain 9 GB more free space bumping up to 14 GB.

    THANKS!!

Another thing you could do: Over at portableapps.com take a look if there are portable versions of programs that are installed on your laptop. You could uninstall such programs and replace them by portable versions you store on a usb thumb drive or external hdd. Every time you need one you connect your usb drive and run it from there. Depending on what kind of programs you use this measure could also save you a GB or two.

    Welcome to TenForums @Jimmychand

On that screen click on 'System & reserved' to see a more detailed list of what is using the space. Most likely it's System restore that using the most space. If so, click 'Manage system restore' and you'll be able to configure it to use less space, or even turn it off. I have mine set to a max. of about 2GB, sufficient for several restore points but not using too much space.
