    Windows 10 x86 14383 Insider Pro and Core 10240

Why does Disk Clean-up take forever?

Windows 10.10240 on a 40 GB HDD partition - required to make another 7 GB for upgrade to 10.10586. Deleted a few GB of ISO downloads and then ran Disk Clean-up for about 400MB.

So far it has taken about twice as long to do the clean up as it will to complete the upgrade, and it's only 2/3 cleaned.

    Tedious to say the least.

I am glad I am not the only one who finds the native Disk Cleanup taking forever to run.
That is why I use Ccleaner for about 2 years now.

Disk cleanup on build 10586 is slightly faster.

Answer: Hard Drives 2 Seagate 500 GBs, Maxtor 300GB, WD160 all rescued from old Sky and NTL STB throwouts.

But seriously see this thread: Answer: Why it can take Disk Cleanup so long

One of my major whinges of W8.1, how slow disk clean-up is, particularly when cleaning system files. Only tried W10's clean up a couple of times but it seemed quick. When you consider that my first 8.1 clean took some 50 minutes to complete, this in...
