    >5 minute boot time on SSD

    Hi.

I have a PC running Windows 10, but it is taking an unusually long time to boot. It can take more than 5 minutes, even though the boot drive is a 250GB Crucial MX200 with the latest firmware. I know that this is a very vague issue, but if i should provide more info for you, let me know.

My motherboard is an Asus Q87M-E btw.

    Thanks

Question 1: is it set to fast boot and is uefi set in bios?
Question 2 : do you have 1 or more usb drives attached at start up? some computers poll all the drives while booting.
you can try unplugging them and making sure there is no cd or dvd in the in.
open task manager go to startup tab and try disabling all non Microsoft programs.

I think I'd take a look at the start up list as well, as there might be an issue with one of the start up programs. Some security suites can cause this, but that was with earlier versions of Windows.

To check the start-up list bring up the task manager and select the start-up tab. You can go through the list and disable one at a time and re-test your system. (*I am referring to the start up programs only, NOT the services or processes).

If you have gone through and tested it with each program, then you should be able to rule out the start ups as the reason.

    Edit:
I just noticed this was already mentioned in the above suggestion, before I posted. Apologies, but I missed it.
