Windows 10 Recurring Crash/Freeze - nVidia?

As the title says. Any progress?

As LukeJR said, above, you are not alone in this. Many W10 users experience driver (GPU in particular) problems due to the baffling policy of forcing generic/Microsoft meddled with drivers through forced updates.

HW manuf. make the best drivers for their products (usually). MS needs to have generic drivers for probably 1,000s of various HW, but if someone installs a direct from manufacturer driver themselves for their HW, downloaded from the manuf. site, MS shouldn't just barge in and force their of problematic drivers on everyone. Seems to be particularly true for GPUs, probably due to the complexibility of GPU drivers.

I had a stable machine then after a MS update the machine started to crash whenever I ran anything that required the GPU :

Solution seems to be : Change the PCI power setting to Off in the power settings : Also in Nvidia control panel Change the Power management mode from Adaptive to Prefer Maximum performance.

You are saying to install the driver only, cud you pls ... advise how to do that?
I mean, I use the default stuff and right now have following on my system.

I am not sure how to proceed to have the driver only installed, or maybe the below
is already OK ?
