Guess I was posting msgs over others, that I didn't see....sorry folks. :) Weekly or monthly might just depend on how much use your SSD gets. Either one is fine I think. :)

An ssd, by design, is always fragmented anyway. In order to not use the same set of cells all the time (thereby wearing them out prematurely), the controller purposely spreads writes to random locations. This is referred to as wear leveling.

Thank you everyone for your feedback.

I learned through you all that my SSD drive is not defragged, and I did actually notice they replaced the word "Defrag" with "Optimize".

I also noticed W10 said a message about "Trimming" when I selected to Optimize the C:, and it took around 1 second to complete the process.

I have set schedule for once per month and will just leave W10 to take care of my SSD drive for me:)

    Thanks again:)

Yes. Leave Optimize drives current schedule on. For SSD drives it performs garbage collection + TRIM commands.

What do you all think about Auslogics Defrag? It has an SSD feature:

No program is 100% bullit proof, meaning if there is a bug with their trimming function you are the one who has to pay for it.
    I wouldn't recommend it.

How can I know the MS Windows Optimize isn't buggy?

    Simply by not using it.
Since I installed my SSD in my laptop, I haven't defrag/trim anything in months.

I have used the portable version. I don't like what is supposing to do for optimizing SSD. MS just takes 1 to 2 seconds. This is slower.
I have also found that its "defrag + optimize" algorithm is slightly buggy. It tends to shuffle a lot of data all around the disk. And it moves any file it wants, even if it humongous and it isn't fragmented.

Now that you ask, I prefer Puran Defrag but watch it for its installer. It will try to install some PUPs.
