    Windows 10 will not sleep.

I have two pc's that are nearly identical. They are both on windows 10 64bit. Initially one would sleep and one would not go to sleep. Pc a would sleep just fine. At 15 mins it shut off the screen and then went to sleep. PC b would stay awake. I made sure the network cards weren't set to wake the pcs. The only devices that are set to wake the pc's are the mice and keyboards and under windows 7 they have no issues. I disabled allowing them to wake the computers, no dice.

The only difference between the computers was the one that would not sleep had a Microsoft account attached to the windows accounts. This week I installed a program from the Microsoft store and it attached an account to pc a and now it will not go to sleep. I tested and removed the account, and sure enough my computers would go to sleep. But every time I log into the program it re-adds the windows account to the computer. On computer A I can get away with deleting the account and just not using the program. On computer B My kids and wife use about 5 apps that add the account after deleting it. I tested everything they use.

Has anyone else had this issue? Or can anyone out there think of a solution that can let my computers go to sleep, and have a Microsoft account attached to the windows accounts? Thanks lots.

Hi Greflin and welcome to TenForums.

That is definitely odd. I have my MS account on this computer, and it has no problem sleeping, so I haven't noticed the problem you're having. If you've not changed the USB sleep/power settings or network adapter sleep/power settings in Device Manager, the only other thing I can think of is, you might try is turning off Fast Startup to see if that makes a difference after a few shutdowns/startups (not restarts). Also, does the computer sleep if you "log out" of the user account?

You might want to use the feedback app to report this to MS.

I turned off fast startup. The network adapters(wired and wireless) are both disabled to not wake the pc. If I log out it will sit at the login screen and stay there without sleeping. My next step is to contact microsoft directly I was just trying to see if anyone else out there had any ideas. Thanks.

Yes, sorry I couldn't be of more help. Yours is the first of which I've heard.

If you do come up with a solution, please be sure to come back here and let us know. :)
