Lenovo Z710 Laptop sleep unexpectedly after 1-2 minutes of inactivity

After upgrading my laptop from Windows 8.1 to 10 last week. My laptop sleep unexpectedly after 1-2 mins of inactivity. Yes, it's sleep, not just turning the monitor off.

I already set my power management setting to "never" turn off screen or sleep.

If I encountered this issue, I need to restart my laptop and the problem is immediately gone...(but may come back after couple of hours).

I also did a clean install of windows 10 and this time without installing antivirus (just using the default windows defender) but unfortunately, I still encountered this issue.

    Please advise
    Thanks

Your best source of information with problems like these is usually the OEM forums for the notebook supplier. The following is a page linked from Lenovo to get you started: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht103611

My model is new and it's compatible.

I just check around the forum and it seems multiple people have similar issues.... :/

Try with the battery removed from the Laptop. I have a Lenovo Z710 with battery/charging issues (seems to be a very common problem with this device) and the problem with it unexpectedly entering standby mode were triggered by the battery (which was not really working anyway).

I noticed in the event log a messsage that said the number of batteries had changed (event id 521 active battery count change).

After removing the battery from the laptop the standby issues stopped.

Hi , I had your very same issue , surprisingly your answer is in your current power plan , seems on upgrading from 8.1 > 10 new added options of hibernate / sleep on inactivity collide with lenovo energy manager settings then the result is a broken timer in power plan .

So what you do is a one time setup where you reinstall lenovo energy manager then edit your current power plan > change advanced power plan settings > sleep > and set everything bellow to off and never .

    Cheers
