Using SFC in Boot with an EFI Bootloader setup?
this topic got moved into an unrelated topic i made in general support about windows search. don't know WHY that topic was chosen and said post wasnt removed, but i'll redo it here
alright, so as stated in this topic, i find myself at a quandary. i did a repair install, and it didnt fix it, multiple sfc scans, nothing. so i had the thought of using sfc at boot. maybe it would "fix" whatever sfc couldnt find while windows was running, or whatever the repair install didnt find & fix. slight issue. after i used the steps in here to properly format/alter my previous setup's C: drive to boot via efi boot loader instead of mbr bootloader, the boot dir has no letter for me to use in the offbootdir portion of the sfc command
what do i do? do i use diskpart to temp assign a drive letter to the efi bootloader and then use sfc that way, or would that introduce issues down the line?
