    Attention:
If the value from Step 1 (shrink) is very small, you have to disable the "Restore Points" first and to delete the hiberfil.sys
I had a problem shrinking the primary c: partition. I disabled the restore points and hiberfil.sys was not working, very low available space. I used minitool partition wizard to be able to reduce as much as possible, it worked. I checked the available space from disk manager, after extending the c: partition when I shrank it with minitool, the available space was maximum.

Be careful with the latest version of minitool partition wizard 12.8 the Recovery partition can become raw.

I always use Gparted. Minitool, AOMEI and others like it require you to pay before they resize your hard drive. Either use Gparted or DiskGenius. Both are FREE in price.

I have Minitool Ver 9.1 that can fix some drive issues that new versions don't.
Also have DiskGenius that is very, very good.
