Remember Position Of Win File Explorer

I know this has been raised but have not found a solution in two hours searching for multiple monitors. I just want the apps to remember where they opened & at that size; predominantly Windows Explorer.

    • Shell Folder Fix - does not remember Win Explorer Position
    • WinSize2 - ditto
    • MaxTo - glorified snapping positions
    • SmartWindows - single profile

    Any recommendations?

    Example discussion and suggestions here:
    Remember Explorer size and position
    - where I suggest another program for example.

But you mention multiple monitors - presumably you mean that's what you use.

If you try with a single screen, do you still have the same issue?

This problem appears to plague some and not others- but I don't particularly recall it being discussed particularly where multiple monitors are used.

Fortunately I've not had this problem.

The last post here indicates where the position etc are saved:
Windows (File Explorer) not retaining my set size and position?

    - which may give a clue you can pursue.

Thanks, I use a laptop, have a 3nr 28" monitor setup at work & a 3nr 24" monitor setup at home all run by same laptop. Yes Windows Explorer never remembers it's position when loaded. Amongst other apps, but atm.

Thanks, had Autohotkey installed so was very easy to load. No joy I am afraid, it remembers the screen but I want it to load up exactly where it was last. Absolutely infuriating.

That some users experience this but not others is indicative. It suggests the mechanism by which these positions are saved is damaged in some way in some cases.

    You might try:

AHK Workspaces - Window Management Script by Maestrith - AutoHotkey Community

The modified script is the last post. Maybe also watch the video. I can't say if it will work.
