[SOLVED]"System" using high CPU usage apparently linked to NVIDIA card

"System" using high CPU usage apparently linked to NVIDIA card

    Started a few weeks ago.
Affects system overall performance making it sluggish and "sticky".
    CPU monitor shows constant activity.
GPU monitor however indicates is in idle state.
Several seem to have that issue going back to 2023 but I have not found any relevant or competent answers.
Does anyone no what the probable cause for this is?

Do you have hardware acceleration turned on somewhere?

nope, all browsers have it turned off.
Wouldn't know where else to look what would have hardware acceleration

    SOLVED

The Germans long time ago concocted a very "au point" suitable word: "verschlimmbessern" to make something worse by constantly improving it.

In our update mania world where you get constantly indoctrinated that you have to update and feel like you cannot even take a breath without having to get an update, there often the culprit lies.

Turns out it's the Nvidia drivers. Newer and more updated is not necessarily better, in this case worse!
I looked in my personal log and notice that I first made a comment to myself in early February of this year.

The problem appeared once I had upgraded from the Nvidia 546.65 version driver release January 17 to the newer 55X.XX versions.
The last driver where all really got annoying hogging resources is version 552.12 April 4

So I uninstalled all and I did a clean install of version 546.65.

Well what you know! the problem is solved! Gone!
No more ["system" GPU-1 copy] resource sapping!

Everything works fine smooth and swift again like before!
Even my speech to text software runs definitely smoother and looking at the resource monitor right now, all CPU loads are significantly lower but also the temperature of the CPU package is a considerable 50°C lower!
With no activity the system is idling back at the previous low rate.

[Reminder] lesson learned [again]: ...If it ain't broken don't "fix it"!...

I found it is not the video driver but it is some poorly written applets, DFX or FXsound that gobbled up and leak memory and occupied the CPU for no reason!
