2gb per slot it it will most likely have 4gb as 4gb was the common amount around 800mhz ddr2 era, if it was purchased second hand then it may have the full 8gb.
I see these systems on our local Ebay with the full 8gb all the time so its possible if they bought it this way then it will have.
DDR2 is cheap here like 10 dollars or less a stick not going to break the bank.
10 is going to be slow pre 1st gen because its doing lots of extra stuff. XP is ideal for a computer like this but its so depreciated you need to know how to use a OS that old effectively, half the stuff will not work out the box to someone who is unsure.
it could have 2gb not sure but core2duo was peak platform for its time and you need 4gb minimum for these processor to work effectively. where 2gb was less common mainly on embedded core2 systems.
