Help with win repair install Dell

The desk top is not mine but my inlaws - I will be visiting soon.
    Its a Dell inspiron 3470 8gb Ram PC .
They do not know what they did to it but each time they try to use it if hangs on the login window, with the balls constantly circling when they click the box to log in.
I went through all the dell checks via f12 and nothing was found to be wrong so I used the Dell support assist OS Recovery and chose reset and update with copy data backup. After it finished when try to log in they get a message saying unable to log in as internet is needed and they are not connected.
Google tells me it could be because the reinstall does not include the wifi drivers - only wired drivers -- is that right. ?
    Thank You.

One more thing, that when I was at the dell reset and update with copy data backup diolog screen I had a choice of "select OS to install" and I could choose either win 10 or win 11 - does that mean their machine had been updated to win 11. And could it of been that win 10 to 11 update that has caused their hanging issues.
Is there a clue to what OS it was because the default screen wallpaper before the reinstall was the pyramids and the sphinx

You can tell if it's Win 10 or 11 by the START button... assuming they haven't altered the START button.

Here's a pic comparing the two...

You can also tell by the logon circle. On Win 10 it's spinning dots, and on Win 11 it's a spinning bar.

Thanks for that - we never got as far as a start button - just the sphinx wallpaper and a log in box and before the reinstall repair there was the wifi symbol but it was then win 10 because it had the rotating balls - spinning dots.

I used the recovery tool that was installed on the PC - accessed via pressing f12 on start up. Just looked at the link you kindly supplied and there is a step there that says
"Launch the tool and enter the Service Tag for the device that will be reinstalling the OS."
But there was no such "service tag " option on the PC so I am assuming that step was done automatically as I was accessing the tool from the tools installed on the PC at shipment.

Also safe to assume that whenever the computer said we need to install this or that then they just pressed yes. so
Note: If KB5025885 was installed on the system and you added the manual steps as recommended by the Microsoft security advisory, Dell OSRI (streaming and ISO download) may not boot successfully. For details on the Windows reinstallation impact, read the article.
It very difficult to decipher what they did espicually when I am told "it just went "bang" when it didn't did it

New update after getting hands on with the pc all that was needed was to properly connect with the router, so that is now all done it seems that the pc is a complete new install.
When I was going through the dell on recovery it too 2 hours to back up all the files and photos and I fully expected it to all be reinstalled but it has not.
I assume that there is a file back up somewhere but where. Thanks
