I'm not sure whether it's as simple as the k/b not being seen during the boot. I never see the motherboard boot/splash screen at any point. Either the display goes blank and stays blank until I hit the reset button, or it boots straight back into Windows.

Do you have an old PS/2 keyboard? Or can you use the black USB-Port on the rear/backside?
use the Clear CMOS jumper! Then there is no Fast Boot

The CMOS jumper is buried under cables. What's the significance of the black USB port on the rear? (that's much easier to get at!

It looks like I'll need to remove the display adapter to get access to the SSD, which is not ideal. I can't believe how difficult it is to get access to the BIOS!

You can't easily disconnect the sata or power cable on the ssd side in the case?

If not, sorry, you will have to do it.

It's an M.2 NVMe SSD, so no SATA or power cable to disconnect

Ok wait for other answers to your problem. And if nothing works, you will have to remove the graphics adaptator

With UEFI, you can get to bios from the Update and Security, Recovery menu, Advanced Start-up and click Restart now, then select troubleshoot, UEFI firmware settings, then click restart

Re blank screen - try changing to legacy bios boot menu. I suspect there is an issue with graphics driver in winpe mode (I had this problem once on a pc).

Run this from admin command prompt

    Code:
    bcdedit /set "{current}" bootmenupolicy legacy
To revert to graphic menu replace legacy with standard.

I did try Update and Security...Advanced....UEFI firmware settings. The machine begins to restart, I hear a beep, and then nothing (the display remains blank). I have to press the reset button to get it to restart (at which point it boots straight back into Windows).

I just tried the bcdedit command to switch to legacy bios boot menu. Got exactly same problem - a beep, and then nothing.
    ???
