The "human robot stuff" you are referring to is likely a CAPTCHA, a security feature used to verify that a user is a human and not a computer program attempting to perform automated tasks. Several factors could contribute to an increase in encountering CAPTCHAs:

    Network Anomalies:
If your internet connection appears unusual or is flagged for suspicious activity, websites might prompt you with a CAPTCHA to ensure you are a legitimate user.

    VPN or Proxy Usage:
Using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) or proxy server can sometimes trigger CAPTCHAs as it might appear to websites that multiple users are accessing the site from the same IP address.

    Browser Settings:
Certain browser settings, extensions, or add-ons might trigger CAPTCHAs. Try accessing the websites in an incognito or private browsing mode, or with extensions disabled, to see if the issue persists.

    Browser Cookies:
Websites use cookies to store information about your session. If your cookies are cleared or if there's an issue with them, websites may not recognize your session and may prompt you with a CAPTCHA.

    Security Software:
Your antivirus or security software might be affecting your online experience. Check the settings of your security software to see if it is blocking or altering your internet traffic in a way that triggers CAPTCHAs.

    Unusual Behavior:
If your browsing patterns suddenly change or if you are accessing a website in a way that appears unusual (e.g., rapidly filling out forms), it might trigger CAPTCHAs.

    To troubleshoot the issue:

Clear your browser cookies and cache.
Disable VPN or proxy temporarily to see if it resolves the issue.
Check your browser extensions and add-ons.
Ensure your computer is free from malware and your security software is not overly aggressive.
Make sure your internet connection is stable and not exhibiting unusual behavior.
If the problem persists, you may want to contact the website's support or check their documentation for any known issues or solutions related to CAPTCHAs. Additionally, if you are using a VPN, consider contacting their support for assistance.

    thanks AI

Its increased security, you'll have to live with it.

I doubt he'll return to this thread, another will pop up in a few days elsewhere. There's never any resolution with his issues.

A URL is the address to the website...

If websites are suddenly asking for you to complete a captcha, it means you look like a bot. Meaning, it's something to do with your browser or a VPN or an anti-virus or something that's messing around with your connection and now the website you go to thinks you're a bot. So having said that, if you post a link to the website perhaps we can see if we also get a captcha.

What this really all boils down to is if you use a niche browser like I do, you have to have a certain amount of privacy invasion crap turned on otherwise websites throw that captcha. Though, you say you're using Edge which would have every single privacy invasion component turned on by default. So you should not be seeing a captcha unless that website has a captcha turned on for everyone.

Did you install any extension in Edge? Any third party tools and whatnot?
