    If you don't have any iSCSI volumes on your local network (which is rare unless you own a high-end NAS, or work in an enterprise environment), then it's kinda useless. The initiator connects to another server, and allows Windows to see a remote volume as a "local" SCSI disk.

    It's provided for failover setups, where if your host died -- someone could boot up a replacement host, and connect to that remote iSCSI volume to resume service. Not for the average home user.

    Seems to be a lot of different results when Googling: disable iscsi initiator
    The link above was the top result. But I don't really know which of the results might be appropriate to your setup.
