chkdsk missing from event viewer on windows 10

I plugged in my external USB drive today and was prompted with "There's a problem with this drive. Scan the drive now and fix it."
I end up doing the scan and it says no errors found and there is a link to view the log.

It takes me to event viewer but there is no chkdsk log.

Is this because there were no errors?

Haven't had occasion to check that but possible. Another possibility is a removable drive is involved and a record is not needed to be saved.

Chkdsk logs are normally located in the "System Volume Information" folder of the tested drive.

Forgot to mention that but it explains why the System Volume Information folder can show on USB Thumb drives when having to do the check, especially when in a different port than previously or from/on a different machine.

I have a couple thumb drives that will always do that, even properly removed every time. Happens less often on hd's

Please run: chkdsk from event > post a share link into the newest post using one drive, drop box, or google drive
