Are you somehow overclocking? If positive, manually or by a BIOS profile?
Reduce to a single stick of RAM, then if you find it still freezes, swap that and try again.
Grab a spare disk- install Win 10 on that. Any freezes? If so it's 'definitely' hardware.
If not, return to the original system disk. Boot to Safe Mode. Any freezes?

Yes, with AMD Ryzen Master set to 3000 MHz instead of the default 3400 MHz it is stable. But the PC is then 30% slower than it used to be for my applications.
I am also looking into a new motherboard. I know my windows license could be used on a new motherboard because after the BIOS update windows/office thought it was a new computer.

Everything is replaced except for the CPU/motherboard. No problem running memtest86+ either on the original RAM as well as the replacement RAM.
I have tried different nvme disks and locations on the motherboard. Maybe I could try to boot from a SATA disk.
Sounds like problems with overheating, or due to overclocking.
Had issues with a RAM chip without ever reporting any errors on any memtest, at the time I thought it was an issue with the GPU (AMD) I almost went nuts trying to figure out what was happening, just sharing. In my case I solved it buying a new RAM chip, funny enough... the discarded chip is working perfectly on my wife's computer without issues. In case you are scratching your head about what I said, this is quite common, doesn't happen every day but it happens, even having the same specs. I've had Pcs (but mostly Macs) that would reject specific ram chips but would accept others, the solution goes around playing around with them (sometimes even the order of the chips becomes an issue).
The freeze came back with a new motherboard.

If you haven't already done so, do some google searching.
What entries do you have in Reliability History after the freeze has occurred?
After having tried everything with your configuration, changing the CPU, the same or another reference would be the solution.

Assuming you used the power button after the freeze had occurred, that message probably refers to that action rather than helping you with the freeze. It would be unusual to find any report captured about a freeze that was not temporary as there's no time for any report to be generated.
