ASUS T100TA Slow Boot Up / Restart Times

    Hi,
I'm really hoping that I can obtain some help with the issues in the subject line of this message. Just for clarification as well as reference here are the specifications for the computer in question:

    Device name DESKTOP-9PPCE62
    Processor Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU Z3740 @ 1.33GHz 1.33 GHz
Installed RAM 2.00 GB (1.89 GB usable)
    Device ID 65A99210-6E73-4D22-A345-809F04D78233
    Product ID 00330-81614-83690-AA113
System type 32-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch Touch support with 5 touch points

I'm currently running version # 22H2, I would even be open to doing something that I've never tried to do before because up until now I haven't needed to, and that is overclocking as long as it wouldn't damage my computer. Thanks in advance for any and all help that might get provided.

Hi, there are numerous threads on slow booting on tenforums- please research those for ideas.

    Processor Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU Z3740 @ 1.33GHz 1.33 GHz
System type 32-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I assume you're talking about a PC which is neither of your System 1 nor 2. This is confusing.

What is the make and model?

With what is likely an old underpowered PC probably using a HDD you can't expect miracles.

    Some practical things to try:
    a. Clear temporary files- use Disk Cleanup (tutorial available). A number of slow boot cases have surprisingly been related to an accumulation of these.
    b. Disable Fast Startup if using a SSD. And try that anyway if using a HDD.
    c. Check your disk(s) - Hard Disk Sentinel is excellent (good for SSDs too).
If ok, then from an admin command prompt run
    chkdsk c: /scan
    and check that passes.

    Lots of information needed please.
    1. Your build level is somewhat old - 19044.1620 - is there any reason for that? But that's what you cite for Sytem 1 & 2- no idea about the PC in question despite the forum prompting you to provide that.
    2. What sort of disk do you have- HDD? SSD?
    3. How slow is slow?
How long does it take from a cold boot to the lock screen being displayed?

    History please:
When did it last boot more quickly?
How long did it then take from a cold boot to lock screen?

How much free space do you have on C: ?

Given it's likely to be an old PC, I'm wondering if it's worth the time it would take to use the diagnostic tool used for slow boot cases- you can find examples in the slow boot threads.

    Thanks.

With only 2gb of RAM,you are guaranteed of a slow boot, regardless of how many auto-start items there are.,

    joeandmarg0,
You are exactly correct with your statement, my asus t100ta is very old, I'm thinking if it wasn't too expensive and too difficult to install I could increase the memory, I recently had to purchase a replacement battery pack due to the original one having become extremely swelled up to the point it was distorting the display screen and had started separating the front and back covers. I was lucky enough to find one on ebay.com for a great price that was even a actual oem part.
