Slow screen updating when displayed on TV

I've just retired my old HP Pavilion laptop and replaced it with a newer (six year-old) HP Envy running Windows 10 version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.3086). I use the HDMI port to display the screen content on my Sony A8 TV screen. It was fine with the Pavilion but with the Envy the cursor movement on the TV (not on the laptop) is erratic (as if the HDMI interface is updating the screen far less frequently), as is the moving dot that is used to indicate waiting for a process to complete. Scrolling down a page is jerky. Is there a fix for this please?

Just a couple of initial thoughts as a start.

• Depending on the age of the TV, have you checked to see if there are ANY Firmware updates [ Ethernet / Wi-Fi connection needed ].
• Check Device Manager for Yellow triangles and maybe run a Drivers update.

Device Manager tells me "The best drivers for your device are already installed."
I did a TV software update manually but this made no difference.
Strange that all was okay with the Pavilion but not with the Envy.

Using the link you provided I was able to update the refresh rate for the TV from 24 fps to 60 fps and it's nice and smooth now.
