Windows 10 slow start - Hanging on booting screen

    Hello All,

I have a customer's laptop, ASUS X515JA, has Windows 10 installed, when the PC is powered on, it hangs on the booting screen with the dots circling around for more than 2 mins, once gets into windows, it's fast. I followed the instructions of taking a boot trace with Windows Performance Recorder, and the ETL file is uploaded to WeTransfer - Send Large Files & Share Photos Online - Up to 2GB Free
Any ideas what's causing the delay?

    Specs of the laptop:
    Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-1035G1 Processor 1.0 GHz (6M Cache, up to 3.6 GHz, 4 cores
    Graphics Card: Intel® UHD Graphics
    Memory: DDR4 8GB
    Storage: 512GB M.2 NVMe™ PCIe® 3.0 SSD

    Is Fast Startup enabled ?
Have you tried ---control panel >troubleshoot >system & security >run maintenance tasks ---?
Are the startup items in Task Manager reduced to the minimum?

    Hi, and welcome to Tenforums.

Your issue seems to have to do with loading the registry hive when the OS loads your user profile.

First, try to create a new user and log in with that user to see if it took the same time.

To identify the registry Key Windows is trying to load, you need to register another boot trace while enabling the "Registry I/O activity" in WPR:

Don't forget to compress the ETL file before uploading it.
