The problem also occurs with the touchpad, so It's not the mouse.

I generally use the wireless mouse. Occasionally I remove the mouse and use the touchpad (touchpad doesn't work when mouse is connected). All the drivers are up to date.
From your example, it looks as if one of the HD Compliant devices should be removed. I'm assuming if I remove the wrong one, Windows will automatically restore it,
