Always make backup on your personal data as photos and documents etc.

Even if you wont lose your data if you follow their advice's... your computer or harddrive can die everything from a day after you bought it, to 30years from now. Some times when it break you don't get a warning in advance and it can happen at anytime between a day and 30years.
So always have backup on important stuff.

also when doing stuff that should not go wrong, it still can go wrong. and is called "Murphy's law" Murphy's law - Wikipedia
so when doing stuff.. always backup first. just an friendly advice.

I only make system images not clones.
- A system image is a file that contains everything on the disk. You can save several system images on the same external disk. I make a new system image every month before the next Windows update and I keep them until after I've updated to the next Windows version so I can restore the computer to any chosen date in case serious system problems take time to become evident.
- A clone is copy of the disk on another disk. You can only have one clone on a disk so you'd need to have several external disks to save several clones.

i'm not IT savvy at all and don't know how to restore backup image or i just make a clone of my boot drive..........

Nice I'm glad to hear everything is fine again.

You don't have to be IT savvy to make easy backup.
The easiest backup is your personal files as photos, document and if you use disk encryption your keys for that. easiest is just to copy/paste your files to a flash-drive or external hard disk.
so if you have the files in two places you have to become twice as unlucky to lose things from two places..
and if you have them both on computer, and an flash-drive and an external disk, then you have to be three times unlucky.. and not even "Murphy's law" is that evil. *smiling*
If you use onedrive you probably have them in two places. on your computer and the cloud.. that is a good first step.. and then get an external hard drive.

Backing up the OS with cloning the drive is not really necessary.... as it is possible to just install install windows again. But personal files as photos can be hard to take new pictures of, so those is the only real important thing to keep in mind.

Then you are safe.

as for installing windows, it is pretty much 1 2 3 forward easy.
first. grab a cup of coffee/tea or what you prefer as lean-back relaxing beverage. That part make you avoid stressing thru the steps and make it easier to take your time reading what is written on the screen.
Making the installation media is read what it says on the screen and follow the 1,2,3 steps.. and then you have one.
Booting the computer with the installation media... Read the computer manual how to boot from an USB. 1,2,3 and you know how to
Installing windows out of the box (and not customizing things with a lot of partitions) is also read what the screen say and follow the instructions 1,2,3 and you have a new install.
a new install wipes all personal data, and that what backups is for.

It is easier to install then many think it is. The most important thing is.. Take your time and read what it says.
If you have another disk that is empty, switch it out in your computer and test doing an install on a rainy day when you is bored.

If your Windows is, as is normal, activated with a digital licence then you can reinstall without entering any product key - as is explained in that tutorial.

Check its activation in - Settings, Updates, Activation

It will activate again automatically when you go online afterwards without any action on your part.

Activation happens after installation to the installed Windows not to its installation disk.
