Cleaning up the WinSxS temp folder

My OS partition grew 1gb from yesterday to today. Yesterday, the C:\Windows\WinSxS\Temp\InFlight folder size was 20.3mg. Today, it's 1gb.

I followed the instructions here

But the temp folder files remains the same. No significant changes from yesterday that I can think of.

Are you referring to the InFlight folder properties or it's subfolders? Empty folders are not listed here,



The majority of the used space is being occupied by the latest folders, dated 4/18/23



though I can tell you the vast majority InFlight sub folders dated before 4/18/23 are empty



What are we trying to accomplish with this info?

It's clear that this increase occurred 4/18. If I can't get this figured out, I'm think I'll restore the previous Macrium image and restore what I believed were innocuous additions in the current image.
