Windows Explorer Power Usage Very High(?)

lately, i've been noticing my computer taking a single second more to do stuff, like resizing windows, UAC dialogue, and even at times, so i opened up task manager and checked what was going on, and i see the power usage tab for windows explorer at "Very High", and sometimes lately firefox (the browser i use) also dips into very high (though for some reason that only started when watching a twitch stream). i've ran through the holy trinity of default windows error tools (chkdsk scan, dism scan, sfc scan) and so far they found nothing, i havent ran a virus check yet, but i have a feeling it will find nothing, and im about to shut my computer off and let it run a fuller auto (kek) chkdsk /r /f and see if that somehow does a thing, but the temp solution i found is to go into task manager, scroll to windows explorer, right click and click restart and the power usage ends up at a nominal low/mid. but for the record, on a default windows installation, is the power usage for windows explorer always meant to be that high, because i've tested this out by closing some diff running programs to see if that did anything (nope) and idk what's goin on

sorry, just rebooted after the chkdsk /r /f scan finished and i did a short safeboot (minimal, no networking) sesh. Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit, Build:19045.2604

No difference in performance between the two, haven't removed both of the two antiviruses to test, but as too soon as this sounds, i think the chkdsk /r /f managed to fix the problem somehow? i tried watching a twitch sesh (whatever vtuber was on, any of them) for a short while, checked the power usage and the CPU load, firefox and windows explorer together was taking most of the cpu load by half total, and the power usage for both was at very high. when i closed firefox normally, i checked task manager, and the CPU load and power usage normalized for windows explorer, which didnt before the chkdsk /r /f command. would've had to task manager "restart" the explorer process to do so, but it did it by itself

just when i thought i had my computer down pat, it throws me the weirdest curveballs and takes me for a loop. god i wish it'd stop it. if this didnt do it, i had a really weird plan to take my windows 10 iso, extract the install.wim contents, copy the explorer.exe file from its windows folder to a different one, then using a different bootable iso tool, override the default explorer.exe with the extracted copy, but idk how that would've worked out, glad to see i might not need to do that after all
