Turn off Windows updates of non-Microsoft drivers:
Enable or Disable Driver Updates in Windows Update in Windows 10
Uninstall the Nvidia GPU drivers nvlddmkm.sys using DDU.
Make sure that a clean install is performed and install physx if available.
Do not reinstall any other Nvidia software such as GeForce Experience.
Make sure that a version other than 31.0.15.2849 is installed for testing purposes.
Make a new restore point.
Restart WDV using all customized tests except:
[ ] 0x00000004 Randomized low resources simulation.
If there is no immediate BSOD post a new querysettings.
For any BSOD post a new V2 share link.
so which Nvidia drivers must i use?
The latest ones?
Please try older Nvidia drivers.
If there is a Nvidia driver that creates a stable environment make note of it.
If there are continued BSOD with multiple Nvidia driver versions then consider swap testing the GPU card.
(Swap testing can be Nvidia or AMD)
Also perform these steps:
1) Open System Properties by typing “sysdm.cpl” (without quotes) in the Search box on the Taskbar, then hit the Enter key.
2) In System Properties, select the Hardware tab, then click on Device Installation Settings.
3) In the Device installation settings screen, choose NO.
4) Click on Save Changes to exit.
5) Restart the system.
Turn On or Off Device Driver Automatic Installation in Windows 10
ok i will try the version that came before the latest version.
My download speeds aren't great today so i will hopefully be done in half an hour or so.
Okay.
Please see the edited prior post to make an additional step to prevent Windows updates of the Nvidia driver.
If you're able to find a stable Nvidia GPU driver then make free backup images and save the images to another disk drive or the cloud.
(Acronis, Aoemi, EaseUS, Macrium, Paragon, etc.)
Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect
GeForce Game Ready Driver | 472.12 | Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 11 | NVIDIA
472.12 was stable, and still is.
A standard driver so you don't need the Control Panel from Microsoft Store either.
But Windows will probably overwrite it after a while by force updating it.
