    Start Up Error -Win10

Hi - I have a problem on start up - it is not a great concern and the message is easily removed by clicking on error shown . I have also downloaded autoruns but I don't see the error listed so I can't delete it. Error is as :- C;\Program Files\WindowsApps\48405\Ambient Software.WidgetsFree_4.0.5.0_x64...agy8jafh...
    Incorrect function
Thanks for any help you can provide

    Try to use Autoruns program.

    1. Download the Autoruns
    2. Extract the file(
    3. Open the extracted folder then run Autoruns.exe as Administrator.
    4. Once the Autorun is open, click the 'Logon' tab.
    5. Find the process with "Image Path"- " C:\Program
    Files\WindowsApps\48405AmbientSoftware.WidgetsFree_4...\Windows\Widgets.WPF.Core.exe ".
    6. Right-click that process, click Delete.
    7. Close the program then restart the PC.

Think you have to try to illustrate it with some pics...

Does the Event Viewer happen to report anything when this happen too..?
If so, it could be useful to know what it is reporting.

    - - - Updated - - -

Could be a lot of things I read:

Could try some simple tasks first.

Corrupt Microsoft Edge WebView2 can also cause widgets to misbehave.
    Start Up Error -Win10-edge33.jpg

    I also read:

The widget board will not work if you’re logged in with a local account, as widgets like calendar, weather, news, and others take data from the Microsoft account. Signing in to your Microsoft account can fix the widgets not working issue.

So you could of course try that if you not are signed in already.

A faulty display driver may be another reason your widgets are misbehaving.
So if your display driver need a update that may be a reason.

If you are using Cortana it seems to reset the Cortana could help. App & Features->Cortana->Advanced Option->Reset
"In Win10, I went into Apps & .. advanced options and turned OFF Cortana and no more dialog box and no more Cortana. I suppose you could do a refresh install of cortana via powershell to fix it. My problem was caused by globally setting security on C: which gave me more than one owner on some files. all better now."
...or turn that nasty thing completely OFF.
    At least at Startup:
you can disable Cortana from running at Startup.
Launch Task Manager → click on the Startup tab.
    Right-click Cortana and click Disable.

    Also just do the basic:
    dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    sfc /scannow
in CMD(adm) could occasionally have a healing effect.

Disabling the lock screen sometimes also could help....
Long explaination, so I post a link how to do:

    Win 10 Pro (22H2) (2nd PC is 22H2)

The program appears to be known as
    Widgets HD
    Ambient Software
Widgets HD for Windows 10 - Free download and software reviews - CNET Download

Do you still have the widget program installed?

You won't find the path shown in the error message in Autoruns. It will be something else.

Try using the search function in Autoruns for e.g.

to see if you can find related startups.

Whilst you could then disable the startup, there's no guarantee you wouldn't then see a similar error when running the program.

Thanks for your reply dalchina the clue was WIDGETS and I didn't find the answer in Autoruns . I went to Task Manager and found the Widget process was disabled and enabling it appears to have fixed the problem.
