    Uh.... your build number indicates you are 3 builds back. Build 10586 came out November, 2015. Anniversary build, 14393, came out August 2, 2016.

    Version 10.0 indicates no updates to the base. When did you last try to do updates? This is a very old OS. There may be some issues here.
    @simrick ???? Can you take a quick look, please?

    @mbraecklein

    While I'm waiting for someone else, can you please verify your system is activated.

    Go to Action Center, click All Settings, then Update and security, and then Activation. Post the screen it displays. Thanks.

    Hi,

    It's 10240 actually.
    Doesn't really matter the procedure is still the same. mbraecklein should not use the build admin account but his own account (which should have admin rights) and follow instructions to the letter.

    It may help to disable "Fast Start" on this build since that could be a cause of Windows not registering changes correctly.

    Cheers,

    Running windows update now. It will take awhile. I will be leaving for the day in 15 min. We can continue tomorrow. And if you want I can give you my phone number if you want to talk directly to me. Here is the screen shot you asked for. Windows 10 Event ID 10010 and 10016 Errors With DistributedCOM-misty-2.png

    I wasn't aware he was using the Admin account. Yes, we know it's 10240, he posted his WINVER. Maybe you could show him how to disable fast start.

    Is this your work computer at your workplace? On a domain? Possibly controlled by the Domain Administrator?

    Hi,

    Possibly controlled by the Domain Administrator?
    If so then changing things like this could well be locked by the domain admin.......

    My thoughts, exactly. Regedit would likely be a global.
