    Hi,

    I think I read somewhere on the net that that URL is no longer available. Makes life sooo much easier.

    More often than not I just google for the event ID which usually unearths some useful info.

    Cheers,
    That's what this does...
    Try changing the URL MS uses for Event Help. Try this:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Event Viewer]
    "MicrosoftRedirectionProgram"=hex(2):00,00
    "MicrosoftRedirectionProgramCommandLineParameters"=""
    "MicrosoftRedirectionURL"="http://www.howtogeek.com/eventid"

    Eventviewerhelp_HTG.reg

    Eventviewerhelp_HTG.reg
    That works

    I tried Event ID 131 at random after running that reg file and got a Google search for "Event ID 131 Microsoft-Windows-DeviceSetupManager Microsoft® Windows® Operating System" instead of a missing TechNet page anyway

    Yes, no ETA..... and this is suppose to be a workaround? Individually close ALL apps and processes? Disconnect from the internet? Turn the router off? Are they nuts?
    Workaround

    Microsoft is currently investigating this issue.

    To work around this issue, exit all open applications and connections before you log off or restart the system.

    This thread reminds me of how happy and proud I was when I managed to get rid of DCOM errors when win7 arrived on the scene
    I can't believe we still have to do this, Win10 and 2016.
    It's not fun anymore
    Just give me a working OS
    Though I still enjoy the discussions

    Hi,

    I haven't tried yet but would be interested to know, in case someone already tried, if adding an EventLogging dword with a value of 0
    under: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\OneSyncSvc, &
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\OneSyncSvc and "some random number"
    gets rid of the 7031 Event logging.

    can someone help me with this 10016 error ?

    The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    {C2F03A33-21F5-47FA-B4BB-156362A2F239}
    and APPID
    {316CDED5-E4AE-4B15-9113-7055D84DCC97}
    to the user DESKTOP-ITIS75F\x7007 SID (S-1-5-21-440673258-1565610801-2605119697-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Microsoft.Windows.Cortana_1.6.1.52_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy SID (S-1-15-2-1861897761-1695161497-2927542615-642690995-327840285-2659745135-2630312742). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool

    it's Immersive Shell

    Hi,

    can someone help me with this 10016 error ?
    Just follow the same procedure as described in this thread but instead of editing the permissions for "RunTimeBroker" you now edit these for "Immersive Shell".

    Do not forget to return ownership in the registry to "Trusted Installer"

    Cheers,
    I know, last time I tried it I screwed the windows, couldn't open anything couldn't right click on random times, and I didn't have the options to revert back to TrustedInstaller after I changed to administrators. I had over 3000 non stop errors every sec about this and windows was slow like 200 mhz , the only fix was System Restore which restored everything from the registry to the edit I did it ODBC . I would be happy if someone could make the script or edit it like lx07 who did it
