    Hey drugo,
    1. In Component Services (DCOM) up at the top Click View > Detail ... This allows you to see the Name and AppID, so you know your choosing the right one.
    2. I always click Yes on the Configuration Warning and haven't had any issues.

Yes, you should be able to fix Win7 DCOM errors with the same procedure.

    Hi drugo,

The RuntimeBroker (APPID : {9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276}) problem is a persistent one. In my system, it went away with 1703 and returned with 1709.

Having searched a lot for the issue, I decided to leave it as is... waiting for the next update.
I would recommend the same, since MS seems to have problems with that and fixes come and go!

    Hi,

Havedn't seen that Runtimebroker DCOM error for over a year.
Zero DCOM errors on FCU so I guess MS has looked into it and fixed it.
It can be important to fix DCOM errors since these can lead to other errors and so on. Most are easy enough to fix anyhow.
When you see DCOM errors just after an upgrade install or fresh install, restart the machine a few times and most of the time these errors when vanish all by themselves. Except for when they are access permission errors.

From CU through FCU, if you see DCOM errors in Eventviewer they're likely to originate from third party software, not Windows 10 itself.

As mentioned in this post, it came back with FCU, in another variant .
Third party s/w hadn't changed before and after the update...but the error came back. That's why I said that I'll wait for the next update!

    Hi,

No, it did not come back.

I have 7 installs on a variety of machines that are DCOM error free to confirm it.
If it were to be universal then we'd have far more users complaining about it but is not.

You might have 7 or even 70 installations and I don't doubt you at all!!
I never said or implied that this is a universal problem. I just said that in MY INSTALLATION it came back...and that can't be denied

    Hi,

Ok, but I wouldn't wait for MS to solve it. If I can help you resolve it then I'll gladly assist.

    Cheers,
