Surface shuts down after screen goes off or sleep

    I have a Surface pro 7 W10 Home 22H2 19045.2251
For some weeks when I close lid (with or without sleep enabled) or even if I put a screen saving timer, sometimes the pc shuts down completely.
I disabled all power savings modes (I also reset them at default and then put anything to never), also set close lid to do nothing, but it shuts down anyway, both on battery or plugged in.
I have this Surface for more than 2 years and it never did this! Maybe some W10 upgrades?
    How could I solve this?

    Open CMD as administrator type...

    cd\&powercfg/energy press enter

Go to your C: drive and there should be a file called energy-report.html upload the file here.

Should I do this before closing the lid to monitor what happens or during normal pc use?

Anyway, this is the report during normal use...

Going by that file S4 hibernation in enabled. Usually this is a power button feature but its worth a try i am not familiar with surface pro models either.

    Run a CMD as admin

    powercfg.exe -h off

Try this if not i am not to sure the file seems to look pretty uniform otherwise.

and to re enable it if there is no change then just reverse the command to say on instead of off.

This thread the person seems to allude to the surface pro keyboard acting like a laptop lid maybe this is the issue.

again i have no knowledge of surface pro models never used one.

ok I tried to disable hybernate, now I'll test and I'll report.

But if it was hybernating the pc, at restart it should reload it as it was before! Instead it loads up like a new restart with all programs closed...
So, to me it seems more a real abrupt shutdown instead of a hybernate.

Yes, the lid acts like a notebook lid. And if I set it to nothing, it does not sleep, but it correctly only puts screen off.
So when I reopen the lid it puts screen on. Instead if I set it to sleep, when I reopen the lid I must also reinsert the password.
But the problem arises on both modes: after some time (only 3m when in sleep mode, more time if only screen off) it abruptly shutdowns the pc...

    EDIT
looking at events seem confirming my idea

Well that error 41 happens usually when the pc just black screens completely and reboots with no warning. You might need to run the v2 log script from bsod section and then post the results there.

and there is a user mode driver error before it so this means an application you have installed is probably the culprit.

    Frank,

Display drivers are common causes of sleep problems. They can get corrupted in use so I suggest you go to your model's support site then download & reinstall the display driver even if it is the same version that you have now.
[That's reinstall not just check for updates.]

    Best of luck,
    Denis

    @Try3
ok, I'll do this. If I don't solve, I'll follow the advice to post the V2 log script in a thread in that section.

So, I tried both the hybernate and the new video driver installation: no luck!
I'll create a thread on BSOD section with the V2 log...
    Thank you for now.
