(Nov 25) Boot Failure with history

    PowerSpec G355 Gaming Desktop PC
Windows 10 Pro, Ver. 21H2 (OS Build 19044.2251)

    Howdy Folks

    Recent History:
Nov 12: "Checking SSD Primary after Scan & Repair Warning (for Peace-of-Mind)"
Checking SSD Primary after Scan & Repair Warning (for Peace-of-Mind)
Running SFC /scannow "found corrupt files and successfully repaired them".
I installed Hard Disk Sentinel which is now telling me my SSD & HDD are all good.
    -
Nov 18: "The VGA card is not supported by UEFI driver"
The VGA card is not supported by UEFI driver
Nov 24: With help from @Ghot I updated my BIOS version and all seemed good.
    -
Nov 25: This morning this desktop failed to boot from last night's 'shut down': I had lights and fans, but nothing else.
A hard shut down was my only option, producing the same results. Ditto: 2 more times and the next time it booted properly.
First thing: I performed a 'Restart' and it booted properly with a fresh new OS.
I then ran a SFC /scannow and found no problems there.
    -
I'm seeking recommendations on what I can try next to isolate an unknown issue.
TIA to all who read this post and to those who reply.

    /jdU

What type of cable are you using for vid card to monitor? Is it... old?

    HDMI
    Maybe ~4 yrs old.
Am pretty sure it's okay; e.g. earlier issues gave me a full screen warning, like the one attached here (Note this warning is NOT current)
    Cable is tight.
&FWIW: Machine doesn't "see" keyboard or mouse

    Howdy Paul,
    Good question, answer is "No".
    I expanded all.
    Thanks,

Could you expand ---First thing: I performed a 'Restart' and it booted properly with a fresh new OS ---
Did you perform a Clean Install or simply select "Restart" from the menu?
Are you able to run ---dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth ---followed by ---sfc /scannow ---and continue with sfc until a clean report is given ?

    @joeandmarg0
    1. I restarted from the menu so I would have a newly booted OS.
    2. I'm sure I can run that command, but first I would have to research what it is and what it would do.
I'll take a look at it in the morning.
    Thank you.

    Howdy joeandmarg0,
All looks good up to "/ScanHealth" and another "sfc /scannow". (Attached below)
Do you see any reason to also run "/restorehealth"?
Thanks for introducing me to this function.

Fast start may be more part of a problem than part of a solution. As you have a SSD, Fast start is useless.
    Is Fast start enabled?

    Howdy @Megahertz
You may be right; I tried turning it off (a while back) and found boot time was pretty much unchanged, *but* "shutdown" took considerably longer. (NBD, except I don't like walking away until the process is complete.) I didn't bother trying to find out why; do you have any thoughts on that?

If nothing else comes along (here), I'll turn off Fast Start again and see what happens.
    Thanks,
