How to get application to use GPU

    Hi,

I have AutoCAD set to use the GPU (under graphics settings) as it is quite sluggish, but as the Task Manager shows, it is not using the GPU when it is set to...

In addition to this, there are a couple of applications, namely Chrome, settings and snip & sketch which are using the GPU but are (as far as I can tell) set to use the GPU.

Are there any additional settings which I can use to ensure AutoCAD is using the GPU when it should be.

Those graphics settings don't give the option to "use" the GPU.
They just give the option of high or low performance IF it uses the GPU.

I would assume that there would need to be a setting in AutoCAD itself, to be able to choose using the CPU or GPU.

For example... Stanford's Folding@Home program, does give you that option...

Back in the day, I had an AMD FX-8350 and a 7 series Titan...so ofc I chose the GPU.

Software will only use the GPU if it is written to do that. However, using the GPU won't help if your GPU is not powerful enough for the program using it. If you are using a laptop and only have one GPU then you are limited. If you have a laptop that has two GPUs (APU with integrated graphics & 2nd more powerful discrete GPU) then sometimes you can get a program to use the zecond more powerful GPU instead of default integrated one. If you have a desktop you may have a option to add a graphics card with enough power for the GPU intensive application you want to use.

If you are using multiple monitors autocad will run the GPU on the Main screen only, unless you install the NVidia control panel to manage it. And Many autocad Users don't like to have their taskbar on the workspace... So I assume it's something like that.
