Faster disk (internal ) to external disk transfer using USB 3

Are there faster apps that can efficiently utilise the USB bandwidth available other than Explorer.

I found the speed is nowhere near optimum when there are plenty of small files, say a couple of hundred KB each.

Or are there ways to optimise the system?

    Using WinPro 21H1.

Have you looked into or considered XCopy, RoboCopy, TeraCopy, or even CMD Prompt?

Here are just a few links that you might find informative and useful . . .

    > XCopy - TechRepublic
    > XCopy - SS64

    NOTE:-

To view RoboCopy Commands etc, in a CMD Prompt, type robocopy /? and press <Enter>.

To output the Commands to a .txt file, type robocopy /? > %UserProfile%\Desktop\RoboCopy.txt. Obviously change the output Path to your own.

    > TeraCopy - CodeSector
    > TeraCopy - Copying and Verifying Files - CodeSector

I have NOT personally used TeraCopy.

    > CMD Prompt - How to Copy Files in CMD Prompt - WikiHow

    I hope this helps.

The fastest AFAIK is still this:
    FastCopy
If the USB storage device in question is a (traditional) USB flash drive, then you may also notice some added performance after the partition you use on it is formatted as exFAT instead of as NTFS. But then you'd sacrifice NTFS-specific capabilities, e.g. the ability to set permissions and the ability to use alternate data streams.
