    High Memory/Ram Issue Windows 10

    Hi all,

I'm having high memory/ram issues with my desktop pc, "Windows 10 Version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.1415)". It seemed to start after my last Windows update, and Task Manager would show the memory spiking between 58% and 70% even when the pc is idle. After the update, I now have Intel Graphics Command Center, and I'm wondering if that could be causing the problem. I've tried all kinds of solutions through YouTube tutorials, but none seem to resolve the issue. Does anyone have some helpful advice.

    Thanks

    Roy

It would be much easier to help you, if we knew what your computer specs were.
The free program Speccy will list most of the specs for you... Speccy - Free Download

Please post a screen shot of the main page of the program, like this...

I do not think anything is wrong.
Windows updates take a while to install after the last Restart, maybe an hour or more particularly if you continue to use your PC.

Wait until it is completed before too much analysis.

In the Task Manager sort the Processes column for CPU usage % such that the process using the most is at the top.

You can then usually ID that process.

Windows at idle can decide to complete updates, Index files, run virus/malware scans, defrag, other maintenance tasks.
They will use CPU, but nothing is wrong that is the way things work.

The Intel Graphics Command Centre is a standard App. No reason why that should be the cause.
It replaces what used to be the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel.

The Windows updates I'm referring to are from a couple of weeks ago, and my memory/ram is still spiking to over 70%. I've tried several ways to fix the issue through tutorials. It simply shouldn't be this high, especially when the computer is idel.

In Task Maneger the memory/ram is mostly being used by Desktop Windows Manager.

I've never been too concerned with RAM use until running programs that pop up out-of-memory errors, first was back in '92 with my first computer running MS-DOS 5 and Windows 3.1 installed. Program was WordPerfect for Windows 5.1 and 4MB wasn't enough for more than 8 pages of text, prompted my first Upgrade to 8MB. Windows will always use as much RAM as it needs.

    i will answer with quickway

    1. stop using FF if your ram under 8
    2. stop browser background and try use chrome or chromium based browser like brave or edge with 32bit installer
    3. turn on your sysmain (i believe you already turn it off because of unresponsible-youtuber lol )
    4. stop using adobe cc above if you have less than 8 if ram and only install adobe product that u use
    5. change your AV to panda dome free AV
    6. use or you can search how to stop update completely without damage the "config" as we know store use win update
    7. check your startup program, disable all except that you need
    8. uninstall maps or any "sync-bloat" that u not need.

    you can check my taskbar

as you can see i only use 2 browser edge and chrome. and only install adobe Fw cs6 (i only use Fw)
Google sync still on with onedrive
my computer spec u can see on "my computer" tab.
Screenshot by Lightshot <-- my startup
i disable IDM because it will ReRun if i download something from browser, so why it must be loaded ?
