Hello, let me be the first to say that using registry cleaner is bad for Windows.
No one is going to recommend you to run registry cleaner because registry cleaners cause more trouble than good.

I use the Registry cleaner in CCleaner version 5.78
It hasn't caused me any problems.

I have everything in CCleaner disabled, except the "Custom Clean" and the "Registry" tools.
I also use the Cookies tool to allow cookies for websites I frequent on a regular basis.

It creates registry backups, you can restore them and restart to see, if it resolves the problem.

The Windows registry does not need cleaning. If it did then Windows would have a tool to do it.

The effectiveness of registry cleaners is a controversial topic. Registry cleaners are not supported by Microsoft, removing or changing certain registry data can prevent the system from starting, or cause application errors and crashes.

And yet MS itself is doing it, like an empty entry that blocked windows updates in windows 10, MS issued a patch that removed it. People, who used reg cleaners, had it fixed. As long as registry exists, reg cleaners will be needed, at least for those, who want a problem free windows. Then again, we would not need tenforums, if people were properly servicing windows themselves.
