    Reboot takes 18 Minutes

Hi, anyone please can help me with my Win10 PC and analyze my .etl-File generated by Windows Performance Recorder?
Rebooting my PC takes 18 Minutes (hanging on the circle). However a cold start by pressing the power button only takes a few seconds.
Here is the link to the compressed etl.file: Download - TransferNow
Bios boot phase only takes 8 seconds, so that shouldn't be the problem.

    Many thanks and mery christmas.

Hi, can you please confirm you are using Fast Startup at present? This may account for the difference you report.

What happens if you disable it - assuming it's enabled- and then perform a cold boot.. how long does it then take to boot to the lock screen?

History: (almost never given by posters, alas):
When was the cold boot time short?
What happened before the boot time became as long as it is?

What sort of disk are you using? SSD? SSHD? HDD?
@zinou might be willing to help you. Very few indeed here are familiar enough with the WPA. Thanks.

Hello @dalchina and many thanks for your kind help.

I already disabled fast startup a few days ago, when trying to fix the reboot issue, but nothing changed regarding the time.

To be honest, I don't know, when the reboot time of this PC was short. As I remeber, it was always (min 1 year) that long, but I didn't care, because I usually don't reboot my PC often. I do a cold boot in the morning, which is very fast and in the evening I switch it of. But when I need to reboot, it has this long delay and it's getting on my nerves now.

It is booting from an M.2 SSD and no other internal or external HDDs are installed.

Any help from @zinou is much appriciated, as I already tried to analyse the etl-file by myself, but I'm not familiar with WPA.

    Let's do the basic.

Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
    chkdsk c: /f
It will say your disk is in use and ask if you want to schedule to next start = yes
    Restart
Pay attention on the results, specially bad blocks, bad clusters, bad sectors etc

Back to Windows, open a CMD window as administrator and type:
    sfc /scannow

If it finds any corrupted files, fixing or not, reboot and run again

    Hello.

If I am not mistaken Fast Boot doesn't affect rebooting, right?

Fast startup? Correct. I was interested as to what might be different - purely at a superficial level. At that point I didn't know which type of disk was in use... fast startup is of no real relevance in normal cases with a SSD.

My thought was that perhaps with it disabled, a cold boot could also be lengthy.
But that's all now irrelevant as we now know it was already disabled.

I tried what @Megahertz suggested. chkdsk c: /f had no errors and sfc /scannow had some errors in the log. However reboot time hasn't changed :-(

    It's very unlikely it would.

Please feel free to review other threads where slow boot issues have been resolved with the aid of the Windows Performance Analyser.

Two refer to temporary file issues.

Open device manager. Is there any yellow alerts of missing drivers?

The last method you can try is a clean install of OS. If you confirm you don't have any softwares, drivers, storages, hardwares or configuration problem. Maybe due to OS/updates not install properly.
