Battery not charging beyond 31 percent

I have Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52 laptop running 64 bit windows 10 version 21H1 (Build 19043.1320). Today I got its battery replaced. On the shop, the charging was running totally fine. I tested it for good 20 minutes. After 2 hours when I reached home and plugged in, the percentage is not increasing beyond 31 percent. It is also not showing the estimated time remaining to charge the battery fully.

However, if I unplug, it drops below 31. I reset the battery by pressing the reset button at the back with a pin and holding for 20 seconds, then rebooted.

I also uninstalled two battery drivers from the device manager, then rebooted but still facing the same issue.

I have once solved charging problem by disconnecting battery and connecting battery while power supply plugin and Windows 10 running.

I suggest you check for any installed Acer utility that has been set to limit charging levels.
And check for a similar facility in your Bios.

    Best of luck,

Okay I checked in my bios settings and acer care panel. There are no battery related options.

Moreover, I disconnected my charger and let the battery drop. It dropped to 28 from 30. Then I plugged in my charger again. It's been like 10 minutes and the battery percentage is stuck at 28.

Is it a genuine Acer replacement battery from a reputable shop? If so then are you able to take it back to the shop for a replacement?

Yes. It's a genuine one. I'm thinking of going back to the shop tomorrow.

The battery is not directly removable. One has to unscrew the entire chassis and unsnap it from the laptop body. It looks quite dangerous , fearing that I might damage something. There are people who've used Youtube videos to learn opening their acer nitro laptops successfully but I don't feel confident enough to remove battery myself.

    Hi,

Are you normally using it on the battery very much ? Seems abnormal to already replace a battery on a 2019 laptop ?

Hello, I have had issues with batteries and charging. In each case, I updated the firmware and it worked fine after that.
