    Startup Items & Scheduled Tasks - To keep or not to keep


    Hello all I see these tasks in my computer some are under startup and some are under scheduler. Can someone please be kind enough to tell me which ones I should disable without facing any issue with my Os/softwares.

    Hi, I would suggest that's very much a subset of the actual startups on your PC.

    If you wish to take a further look - try Autoruns (free from MS).

    As to the above, as you can see, a number are to keep various things up to date.
    Should you wish not to do that by that method, you could disable the task.
    Safer to disable it, than to delete it- then you can readily enable it again should you wish.

    What is your objective here? Are you hoping for some sort of efficiency gain?

    Some of these will be particular to your PC's confguration - manufacturer utilities and installed programs.

    Your PC is a personal computer- the decision should be personal too.

    On my machine, I disable all start-up tasks that are not my Microsoft. There is an exception or two where I want the features when the program loads on boot. There's a growing trend in software to pre-load parts to either ensure it is up to date or that the software provides a seemingly faster load time. Disabling non-Microsoft stuff should been fine or if not, you can switch it back.
