No SLEEP - powers down

    Must ad that the error message, with every sleep cycle, is still evident. That was the other item that misled. Kernel-Power...

    "The system firmware has changed the processor's memory type range registers (MTRRs) across a sleep state transition (S4). This can result in reduced resume performance."

    Any suggestions to getting rid of it are welcomed. It began after the BIOS update.

    Google searching that quote shows other people experiencing the same over the years .... I didn't see a solution in the few posts I Iooked at.

    Indeed. Same experience here. Thanks for looking into it. The issue affects many users, and disparate hardware.

    The timing and error message hint at incompatibility between specific BIOS releases and Windows. No error here until a recent BIOS update.

    Conclusion: one can ignore the benign error or instead HIBERNATE, disabling SLEEP, though the delay to resume is a bit longer in that mode.
