Windows' services are irrelevant. Windows isn't running.

Did you not say that you could change the loudness level using the volume control or did I misunderstand?

If you can still here this beep noise after using the shutdown command from a Command Prompt (as directed) this noise is most likely not related to Windows or any Windows apps or services.

I've tried multiple different searches trying to find something similar online, no luck yet.

Even though I don't believe this to be Windows related, have you looked for anything irregular in the Device Manager?

Any device with an exclamation mark or anything listed under other devices?

If this were my laptop, I'd be looking at making a last ditch effort with online searches and then popping open the case.

I'll look for directions the next time I'm at my PC, using the phone atm.

Can't adjust the sound level, set it to 1 and it still blared out.

    No errors in Device Manager.

I contacted HP Community and they have not responded.

Is the sound still audible while muted?

I'm sorry if the repetitive questions are a PITA, that's the price you pay for free online advice.

Do you think we should completely reread every thread before posting? This thread is 12 pages & 115 posts.

Try to imagine remotely working on 10-25 technical issues per day, usually with non-technical users and not having the lines blurred causing you to ask more of the same questions again, especially on longer threads.

O, and we have our own lives with challenges, yet we make time to volunteer here. Yes, we are volunteers!

My Father had a saying that is stuck in my head & part of my belief system, read it carefully.

You're part of the solution or part of the problem.

Your response above and like several in this thread are not very helpful when there are many other users here that make our tasks easy & non-confrontational.

While I sympathize with your grief, I feel that many of your responses to several members here are less than respectful.

    Consider this my final warning.

Find it in yourself to openly contribute to this thread and solving the problem you're experiencing while ignoring the tedium of repeated questions.

Do this in a helpful & non-confrontational manner if you expect me to give you any of my time & effort.

The ball is in your court and I won't ask again.

Your final warning, not sure what you mean by that, but if referring you to a post irritates your, then so be it, that is the simplest way for me to get something done without going through the process of continually repeating myself.

I think I have final conclusive evidence that this is a hardware issue. I pulled the battery out and put it back in and then waited for the alarm and it did sound. It could not be anything to do with Windows since Windows was never started.

Just want to update this, the alarm has been stopped for over a month now even after I swapped SSD two days ago.
