What Processes Can Be Turned Off To Free Up Ram?

I was given an HP TouchSmart LQ504 AIO Desktop which is no longer supported HP and does a decent job with windows 10 but I have noticed the ram gets eaten up to where it's not ad smooth to use but tolerable. Well since the ram has been getting eaten up I booted into safe mode to copy almost a 100gb worth of files. I got the idea while in safemode I'd check task manager to see how much ram is being used, I seen that my pc was using under 1gb of memory while at an idle but when the pc is at the desktop without safe mode enabled its eating up almost 2 gigs of ram.

I've tried windows 10 debloater (helped a little)
Making sure processor scheduling is set to programs.
Disabling System Services
I was thinking about slapping a ssd but my ram would still be eaten up.

My question is what behind the scene settings run in windows 10 that just eats resources and isn't anything that will cause instability on my system?

Usually I'd try to max out my ram but in this case 4 gigs is the max ram the mobo supports

Idling at 2 GB RAM is pretty normal. Your main issue is lack of RAM - 4GB?

8GB is really minimum.

If you cannot upgrade RAM, then putting an SSD will help as it pages much faster.

Make an image of your setup (Can never stress that enough)

Then try this Powershell script:

Decrapifier, 18XX/19XX/2XXX

Windows Scripting Host must be enabled and the script must run with administrative privileges.

Machine goes down to 140 processes. But Still Have 1.5 gig ram used iddle.

However the only advantage of this on "small" machines like that is the reduced number of task windows will do, This will reduce greatly HDD activity. But on the memory side it will still be "loaded at boot" so maybe a ssd could improve swapping performance.

If that is not enough, maybe looking into another OS Like Linux Mint. It have the latest firefox using 300MO ram and 5-10Mb per tab instead of 1GIG and 100 mo per tab and more in windows...

I didn't really bother to check the specs of the machine before starting to post but if it's this machine.

2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5750.
2GB (1x1GB) RAM.
320GB SATA Hard Drive.

Install a small ssd and Linux Mint Xfce.
