    About Windows.old

I was running Windows 7 on this pc.

I downloaded Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool (32 bit).

Now I have a Windows.old file that is 12.1 Gb in size.

What is contained in that Windows.old folder ..... the old Windows 7 (didn't think it was that large)?

Should I get rid of it and reclaim the 12.1 Gb? Wise thing to do or foolish?

    Thanks!!

I have it on two systems one had Win7Pro the other upgraded from Win7Pro to Win8 then 8.1,both had Win10 installed from Microsoft web site, never backed up anything. All programs still on systems also all file.
I do have two backup computers with Win7Pro and have a bunch of external HDs for my files just in case.
Since both updated systems are doing well,i thought lets get rid of the old Win7 files.
