PC slow the first 3-5 minutes

I have a Dell Inspiron 3000 with windows 10. Every time I do a cold start (turn my PC on) it' s very slow and takes 3 to 5 minutes to catch up speed. I have Malwarebytes which I shut down manually immediately upon starting the PC but it still takes the same amount of time. Malware does not show on my startup list otherwise I could disable it. Any one has a clue please share your thoughts. Thank you

Based on the limited information all that comes to mind is "back in the day" computers were booting up faster than the HDDs could get up to full speed so would have to guess the HDD is having an issue such as the bearings in the motor that spins the disks. If it's an SSD there's no moving parts.

    What CPU does it have?
Does it has a ODD (CD-DVD) drive?
Did you ever did a Win 10 Clean install?

If it has started recently then think about about what you might have installed or changed that could have caused it.

Also have you checked in the Tutorials section of this forum? https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/...e_Maintenance/

The only change I can think of is the new modem for better network speed - that's right where it started doing it. I dont know whats a win10 clean install. I will read the tutorial

In my experience, Sysmain (or SuperFetch as it used to be called) typically runs for about 5 minutes after a start. Its purpose is to cache your frequently used software/files in the unused RAM making them quicker to open should you need them. This cache is shown in Task Manager as the Standby memory. You can watch it grow to fill all the unused RAM as Sysmain does its work, eventually filling all (or nearly all) of the free RAM.

Once full, this cache can make a system with an HDD feel faster to use. Systems with an SSD will see little benefit. You may want to experiment with turning it off and see how your system behaves.

Enable or Disable SuperFetch in Windows

The probable reason is simply defender scanning fikes which can take a few minutes and is a function of speed of drive and speed of cu. All pcs undergo a scan but if you have an SSD and a fast CPU, it only takes a few seconds, and barely noticeable.
When you say intel, that does not tell us what model.
The single biggest impact is rwlly the hard drive and an SSD is really the only way to go.

I do not know why pcs are even sold with HDDs any more other than keeping cost down. I only use HDDs for usb backup storage drives now.

A drive issue (logical or hardware) can slow down startup

Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
    chkdsk c: /f
It will say your disk is in use and ask if you want to schedule to next start = yes
    Restart
Pay attention on the results, specially bad blocks, bad clusters, bad sectors etc

Back to windows, open a CMD window as administrator and type:
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
    and
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
